Holiday May 2005: Wales and Ireland

Hello! - Here's some photos - a lot of you (if related to me) will recognise the later pics - you should find that clicking on each image will allow you to see a full-sized version of each picture.
View from top of a hill somewhere between Rosslare and Kilkenny, first day of the holiday.
Stopping for a rest between Longford and Galway
Boat headed for the arran isles attempting to dock at Doolin, day after the storms and the floods. Father Ted country.
The Burren - a bizzare limestone landscape on the West Coast of Ireland, setting for Father Ted comedy series, and quite pretty, as well as being full of Yanks!
The cliffs of Moher - spectacular 200m high cliffs rising out of the Atlantic, luckily it stopped raining for the ride back from the West to the East coast of Ireland
Another view of the cliffs, from the top of a Victorian viewing tower - what did the Victorians ever do for us anyway?
The mumbles by night - for a daytime shot, see the top of the page!
Caswell bay, as viewed from Bishop's wood. This was the walk where I got V. Sunburnt!
Some chick walking down a hill through the woods - the huts are still there (in Bishop's wood) despite an attempt a few years ago to have them removed.
Robin redbreast on the walk from Caswell to Langland
Langland bay - the tents are gone, and the Langland Court hotel is now derelict, the Osborne is now a set of luxury apartments, as is the Caswell Bay hotel. However, the tennis courts, golf club, and beach huts remain, and Langland looks the same as ever.
Ilston Church - nothing's changed here at all.(Unless you're very old)
Three Cliffs Bay - we walked down from Ilston to here - stopped at Shepherds to purchase a drink and some biscuits, then sat on the cliffs below Pennard Castle to munch.
Someone insisted on taking a picture which ran the risk of seriously damaging the lens and camera generally! Bit too warm for motorbike gear that day though.
View of Swansea Bay from Town Hill (just round the corner from Pant Y Celyn road - for those who know it!)
Finally - Uncle Alfred's garage, now a Motorbike dealer - I approve of this appropriate use of a valuable piece of family heritage. They even sell under-seat sized bottles of chain lube!!
